Frequently Asked Questions

Each bat is individually handcrafted throughout the entire bat making process. This takes around 4 hours from cleft to finished product. Click here for more information about the crafting process.

It all comes down to the individual’s preference. There is no real performance difference between the two. What the grains do tell us is how quickly the tree has grown; a wide grain indicates that the tree has grown quickly. Narrow grain bats tend to develop surface cracks sooner than a wide grain bat. A common misconception is that the grains represent the age of the willow, this is not the case; the grains on a single cricket bat only represent some of the grains from the Willow tree.

Yes, all our bats should be correctly knocked in before use. English Willow is classed as a hard wood but is actually quite soft and the knocking in process helps to prepare it for the impact of a cricket ball. Bats that are not correctly knocked in are susceptible to damage. Click here for more information about correctly knocking in your new cricket bat.

All of our bats are individually handcrafted using the finest grade 1 English Willow. The Storm and Stealth bat are the same shape and size but vary in colour. They offer a concaved back profile available with high, medium or low pickup, providing excellent performance.

The Classic bat forms a more traditional shape with exaggerated edges and a sharp spine running from shoulders to toe. The classic bat is superbly balanced and offers excellent performance.
